5 MW Kesselanlage für LUSTENAU

5 MW Kesselanlage für LUSTENAU

KELAG Energie & Wärme GmbH is investing in biomass district heating supply, making a significant step forward in the development of Lustenau’s green energy infrastructure.

URBAS Energietechnik has been commissioned to build a biomass boiler plant with a thermal output of 5 MW. To maximise the operational efficiency of the plant, a flue gas condensation system will be combined with a high-temperature heat pump. This way, even the residual energy of the exhaust flue gas will be put to perfect use before its release.

The plant will substitute the annual use of about 2.5 million litres of heating oil, thus eliminating a significant amount of fossil emissions.

The plant is scheduled to be put into operation in August 2026.

KELAG Energie &Wärme GmbH is the largest provider of district heating based on industrial waste heat and biomass in Austria.
