Efficient Heat Supply for Lustenau Through Modern Biomass Technology

Efficient Heat Supply for Lustenau Through Modern Biomass Technology

Kelag Energie & Wärme is building a 5 MW biomass heating plant in the market town of Lustenau, Vorarlberg, to provide a sustainable heat supply.

URBAS Energietechnik has been awarded the contract to construct the complete energy facility, which will produce a fuel heat input of 5 MW.

To achieve particularly high efficiency, the biomass boiler plant will be complemented by a flue gas condensation system and a high-temperature heat pump.

This will make it possible to recover heat energy contained in the exhaust gases and feed it into the district heating network. This will maximise the energy extracted from the biomass fuel.
