KELAG Energie &Wärme GmbH is supplying the town of Villach with sustainable heat from biomass.
Two URBAS biomass boiler plants with 8 MW fuel heat output each have covered the base load so far already.
KELAG Energie &Wärme GmbH charged URBAS Energietechnik with building an additional 12-MW-plant to supplement the existing ones in order to match the rising energy demand in heat.
This brings up the share of renewable energy in Villach’s district heat network to 80 percent.
Commissioning of this additional plant is planned for December 2024.
